News and information about upcoming courses
Seminars and Seminars Bundles go on sale October 1 but will not be available for viewing until after the conference. We expect Session 1 seminars to be available beginning in September of 2026.
Each session group will be available for viewing for a 3 month period only. Each subsequent session grouping will come online in the following months until all sessions have been made available.
Seminars will be sold individually, in Session Bundles of 5 and as an All Access Pass.
In-person attendees will receive a $300 off coupon in their CW Seminars 2026 conference registration confirmation. This code can be used at any time for the purchase of a deeply discounted All Access Pass. The All Access Pass for attendees takes the pressure off choosing the right session, and furiously taking notes for all but 5 of the Seminars offered in Denver.
The presentation covers in detail all the steps to create multiple-tie drafts: Blocks; Plaited; Fractals; Imagery and more.
Ancient Aegean frescoes and Egyptian paintings show sophisticated patterned fabrics from the Late Bronze Age. I recreated hundreds of these patterns to prove they weren't artistic fantasy but real weaving techniques. I’ll share work over 40 years.
Bead Leno weaving isn't decorative but a powerful way to cross warp threads creating lace. This seminar defines bead leno, explores its operation, showcases variations, discusses loom setup methods for 3- to multi-shaft designs, and pros and cons.
Inspired by Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez, Laura explores "chromatic event modules" for cloth. This seminar covers Cruz-Diez's theories applied to weaving, design, additive color mixing, and best weave structures for endless exploration.
This seminar explores weaving design elements in larger formats. Using block designs and color for depth, I'll show foreground/background as positive/negative space, illustrate color blending, and explore symmetry/asymmetry in design and more.
Diversified Plain Weave is a tied unit weave offering experimentation with color and technique. Its grid-like appearance makes individual units visible, perfect for pick-up and clasped weft. Contrast can be defined or muted, using only 4 shafts.
Corris Effect Parts 2 & 3 explores double weave, 4-color double weave, warp rep, and more. Detailed designing for 8 and 16 shafts—a whole new perspective on familiar structures.
Extended parallel threadings create four-color interactions from two warp/weft colors in double weave. I've expanded this with extended D2T threadings, tripling color interactions and doubling pattern blocks. I share this new drafting technique.
